Cities In My Head

 City of Yatana, 2025. A fictional city near the Bay of Bengal in the state of Odisha, Yatana is the entirely fictional setting for the 2024 action film Monkey Man by director Dev Patel. It is a balance of modern and ancient buildings, orderly chaos. A sultry and seductive city home to joy and suffering. Elevated trains criss-cross the many towers and temples of this city. Its design inspired by cities like Kolkata, Mumbai and smaller centres of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

  The Core, 2023. The third installment of a series of maps depicting a massive American city. It is the heart of my personal Chicago. The previous installments of this project were completed in 2009 and 2010, the design began from the outskirts to the core, a city that grows from the outside in. 

Leonardsville, 2009 fictional city map (18x24"  pen and paper). Largely based on Edwardian and Victorian neighbouhoods of Montreal and London with a fair dose of Brooklyn.  

 Bellechasse, Oregon is a fictional town I designed in the fall of 2024. 8.5 x 11". Part of a series of 10 fictional cities located in various empty parts of the US and Canada. It is somewhere near Bend in the central part of the state. Discovered by French-Canadian fur traders employed by the HBC, the area was home to rich hunting grounds, leading to the name Bellechasse meaning good hunting.
